CCJR® Charles A. and Gerard A. Engh
Excellence in Research Award
for Young Investigators

CHARLES (CHARLIE) A. ENGH, MD
GERARD (JERRY) A. ENGH, MD

CCJR® IS PROUD TO CARRY ON THE LEGACY OF

CHARLES A. (CHARLIE) AND GERARD A. (JERRY) ENGH

BY DEDICATING OUR MEETINGS TO THEM IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR FIELD.

Charlie and Jerry trained, mentored, and inspired several generations of young orthopaedic surgeons. Clinical research was always an important part of their remarkable careers, and of those whom they trained.

To honor their life-long dedication to clinical research and to continue to encourage young investigators, The Hip Society and The Knee Society have established the CCJR® Charles A. Engh Excellence in Hip Research and the CCJR® Gerard A. Engh Excellence in Knee Research awards, to be presented at CCJR® meetings.

These awards will recognize young investigators (within 2 years of completing their training). Each 2023 award carries a US $3,500*, part of which should be used to offset travel-related expenses to attend CCJR® 2023 (December 13-16, Orlando, FL).
